Russian companies to build wastewater treatment plants in Uzbekistan
According to official data, the length of the drinking water supply network in the republic is 70.4 thousand kilometers, of which more than 1/3 is in need of an overhaul.
The drinking water supply operator in Uzbekistan, Uzsuvtaminot JSC, will cooperate with Russian companies to build wastewater treatment plants.
“Uzsuvtaminot JSC, Russian Ekolos-Proyektstroy LLC and UzEkolos LLC signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of water disposal and wastewater treatment,” a representative of the company informed RIA Novosti.
The agreement provides for the transfer of technologies and exchange of experience for the creation of wastewater treatment plants in Uzbekistan for residential buildings and industrial enterprises under construction.
In 2020, the Russian group of companies Ekolos established a subsidiary company UzEkolos in Uzbekistan.
In 2021, it began to locate production sites in the republic.
According to official data, the length of the drinking water supply network in Uzbekistan is 70.4 thousand kilometers.
However, more than 1/3 of them are currently in need of major repairs.
Over 25 million people in the country are in need of high-quality drinking water supply services – this is 73% of the republic’s population.
