Rectors of three universities dismissed
Rectors of three higher education institutions of Uzbekistan have been dismissed from office.
According to the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers, three rectors lost their positions:
- Rector of Fergana State University Ravshan Maksudov;
- Rector of Samarkand State Institute of Architecture and Construction Sultan Akhmedov;
- Rector of the Kokand State Pedagogical Institute Mamirjon Atajanov.
It should be reminded that 10 university rectors were fired on February 14, 2020, and another three – on January 14, 2021.
In mid-April of this year, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev strictly warned all rectors of universities due to shortcomings in their work.
“None of the rectors bothers himself with youth problems. They do not visit mahallas and do not communicate with youth. Do they talk with young people at places, motivate them or organize events to engage them? Unfortunately, the answer is no,” Mirziyoyev said then.
