Tax Committee announces number of self-employed citizens
Becoming self-employed has been facilitated in the country since July 1, 2020. Today, there are 68 activities (professions) to choose from, if one decides to work for himself.
At the beginning of May, 791,035 people were registered as self-employed, according to the State Tax Committee.
In the first quarter of 2021 alone, 143,488 people became self-employed. There are also foreigners among them, said the department.
Becoming self-employed has been facilitated from July 1, 2020. The income of self-employed citizens is not taxable, but one can voluntarily pay social tax once a year in the amount of one BCA so that his work record is calculated and included in his workbook. Since February 1, 1 BCA is equal to 245 thousand soums.
Currently, there are 68 activities (professions) available for the self-employed to choose from. The majority of self-employed is registered in the Samarkand, Fergana and Andijan regions.
