Self-employed taxi drivers paid more than 20 billion UZS in taxes over three months
In February and March, officially declared revenues of taxi drivers more than doubled.
In less than a month, over 60,000 private taxi drivers legalized their status as self-employed individuals, according to a statement from the Tax Committee at an AIMC press conference.
Currently, there are 481,400 self-employed drivers in the passenger transportation sector, including about 1,500 women. 213,000 individuals are working with six aggregators who have integrated with the tax authorities — Yandex Go, Uklon, MyTaxi, Intellekt Servis, Promo Technology, and TotMega.
According to the committee, since the beginning of 2024, taxi drivers have paid a total of 20.4 billion UZS in taxes.
The issuance of fiscal receipts has legalized driver revenues amounting to 866.3 billion UZS. If in January the volume of "white" income was 73.8 billion UZS, then in February it more than doubled to 159.4 billion UZS.
The volume of fiscalized payments for March more than doubled compared to the previous month, amounting to 414.1 billion UZS. Since the beginning of April, taxi drivers have earned an additional 219 billion UZS.
Self-employed individuals have been allowed to engage in passenger transportation since July 2022. To do this, one must register with the STC as self-employed, apply for a taxi service permit, and pay a fee (330,000 UZS in the center of public services, 297,000 UZS on the Unified Portal of Interactive Public Services).
Self-employed taxi drivers are not required to pay taxes. However, if they wish, they can pay a social tax equal to 1 BCU (330 thousand UZS) annually to add to their employment record and qualify for pension payments.
