Finance Ministry of Uzbekistan announces GDP per capita for 2020
GDP growth slowed to 1.6% during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020.
The gross domestic product of Uzbekistan last year amounted to 580.2 trillion soums ($57.7 billion), follows from the Finance Ministry report.
By the end of 2020, the real GDP per capita decreased by 0.3% (increased by 3.8% in 2019) and amounted to 16 million 949 thousand soums ($1,685.5).
The slowdown in economic growth in 2020 is due to the introduction of quarantine measures, which have led to a significant reduction in the economic activity of businesses and the volume of production, as well as the volume of consumption.
