Awards for prize-winners of Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games announced
The President adopted a resolution “On measures to ensure the participation of the sports delegation of Uzbekistan at the XXXII Summer Olympic and XVI Paralympic Games in Tokyo (Japan) and the further development of Olympic sports in 2021.”
The resolution approved the composition of the sports delegation of Uzbekistan, which will participate in the XXXII Summer Olympic and XVI Paralympic Games in Tokyo (Japan) in 2021, as well as cost estimates for preparation and participation.
As of June 24, 2021, 101 licenses have been received for participation in the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Before the start of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, additional quotas for Olympic sports are expected to be granted an additional 17 licenses for Paralympic sports (Paralympic judo, Paralympic powerlifting, Paralympic swimming, Paralympic rowing, etc.).
In accordance with the resolution, the athletes of Uzbekistan, who will become prize-winners of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, will receive with a one-time monetary reward in the following amount:
- For a gold medal - $200,000;
- For a silver medal - $100,000;
- For the bronze medal - $50,000 US.
The expenses provided for in this paragraph will be reimbursed from the state budget.
