Mirziyoyev, Putin talk over the phone to discuss issues arising from the conflict in Afghanistan
On July 5, Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
The parties discussed the issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-Russian relations of strategic partnership and alliance.
Mirziyoyev and Putin noted with satisfaction the current dynamics of the development of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, primarily in the trade and economic sphere.
The presidents separately considered the development of the situation in the Central Asian region in connection with the growing tension in northern Afghanistan.
An agreement was reached on the continuation of regular contacts and close interaction between the authorized departments and organizations of Uzbekistan and Russia.
Earlier Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to discuss issues arising from the conflict in Afghanistan.
