Residents of Samarkand arrested for falsifying PCR tests for Russian flights

In Uzbekistan, law enforcement officers detained two citizens who were engaged in counterfeiting and selling PCR tests for passengers flying to Russia. Fraudsters were detained at the Samarkand airport, STV reports with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic.

“At the Samarkand international airport, law enforcement agencies have caught a man and a woman red-handed who were selling fake PCR tests,” the ministry said in a statement.

Reportedly, fake tests were offered to passengers flying to Russian cities.

The offenders asked 400,000 soums for the fake certificate.

Law enforcement officers searched the suspects and found a laptop and a color printer, which were used to make fake certificates. In addition, seals and templates of fake PCR certificates were found in the house of one of the detainees. A criminal case was initiated on this fact. Now investigators are looking into the possible circle of participants in the crime.
