First freight train departs from China’s Wuhan to Tashkent

On July 28, the first freight train from Wuhan, the administrative center of China’s Hubei Province, left for Tashkent, Dunyo IA reports.

According to the Chinese newspaper “Jenmin Jibao”, the train will pass through the Khorgos railway post in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and arrive at its destination within 12 days. The train is carrying strollers, cotton yarn, shoe dyes, home appliances, components for air conditioners, fabrics and other consumer goods with a total weight of more than 600 tons.

An employee of China Railway Modern Logistics Technology Co., Ltd told the newspaper that the launch of this direct railway project will increase the exchange of industrial goods between China and Uzbekistan and reduce transportation costs and delivery time.

In 2020, the first international freight train of 50 wagons en route Hebei Gaoi-Khorgos-Tashkent was launched.
