Coronavirus and pneumonia: Infection cases drop below 1,300

On August 8, 856 people were diagnosed with coronavirus, 439 with pneumonia in Uzbekistan.

According to the Ministry of Health, the total number of registered coronavirus cases has reached 137,491 (+856).

Reportedly, 142 COVID-19 cases were registered in the city of Tashkent, 86 – in Karakalpakstan, 39 – in Andijan, 19 – in Bukhara, 82 – in Jizzakh, 31 – in Kashkadarya, 17 – in Navoi, 49 – in Namangan, 88 – in Samarkand, 22 – in Syrdarya, 85 – in Surkhandarya, 78 – in Fergana, 32 – in Khorezm and 86 – in Tashkent region.

6 COVID-19 patients died yesterday, the official death toll – 934.

As of August 8, the number of recovered stands at 130,906 (+795).

Also, 439 people tested positive for pneumonia on Sunday, bringing the total number of cases to 14,942. According to the Ministry of Health, 440 of them recovered yesterday (7,537 in total).

3 pneumonia patients died on August 8, and to date, the number of deaths from pneumonia is 99.
