German, Afghan and other EU citizens evacuated from Afghanistan to Uzbekistan
The German Defense Ministry's Airbus A400M plane evacuated German and Afghan citizens, as well as citizens of a number of EU countries, from Kabul airport, the press service of the German Embassy in Uzbekistan reports.
“Yesterday, another Bundeswehr A400M plane evacuated many people from Kabul. To date, more than 260 people have been evacuated. They will fly to Germany via Uzbekistan,” the statement says.
It is reported that the air bridge between Tashkent and Kabul will ensure that the evacuation will continue as long as the security situation in Kabul allows it.
It should be recalled that on August 17, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
During the conversation, it was noted that cooperation on the evacuation of German citizens from Afghanistan will continue.
