Uzbekistan, Iran discuss cooperation issues on Afghan direction
Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev has held talks with Iranian Ambassador Hamid Nairabodi.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the efforts of the two countries to expand cooperation in the Afghan direction, as well as the situation in Afghanistan.
The Iranian Ambassador emphasized the active participation of Uzbekistan in the establishment of a long-term and sustainable peace in Afghanistan.
The parties also exchanged views on providing humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people and economic assistance to Afghanistan.
Earlier on October 3, Ismatulla Irgashev and the EU Special Representative for Central Asia Tera Hakaloy held talks on cooperation in the Afghan direction.
