It is noted that over the past 5 years AMMC has significantly increased copper production. If in 2017 109,885 tons of copper were produced, then at present this figure amounts to 148.5 thousand tons.

After the full implementation of the investment project “Development of the Yoshlik-1 deposit” by 2029, the plant will produce 400 thousand tons of cathode copper, 50 tons of gold and 270 tons of silver.

It is reported that 60-70% of the copper produced today as raw material is exported to foreign countries. The revenues from the copper industry in Uzbekistan currently amount to $2.5 billion.

“If we increase copper production to 400,000 tons by 2029, revenues could reach $7-8 billion,” Karshibayeva said.
