Uzbekistan quarantines all passengers arriving on the same plane with a foreigner infected with omicron strain
All passengers of the flight, on which a foreigner infected with omicron strain arrived, were quarantined. This was announced by the first deputy head of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance and Public Health Service Kholmamat Norboyev.

“All passengers, arrived on the same plane with a foreign national infected with omicron strain, have been quarantined. 130 of them are citizens of Uzbekistan, they are quarantined at home, 70 foreigners are quarantined in hotels,” he noted.
As the Head of the Main Department of the Health Ministry Umidulla Riskiyev said, today there are 16 specialized medical institutions specialized in the treatment of coronavirus infection in the country. If necessary, the number of these institutions can be increased to 132, and the number of beds – to 32,000.
According to Anvar Alimov, Deputy Minister of Health and Head of the Tashkent City Health Department, the omicron strain mainly affects the upper respiratory tract.
“In accordance with WHO data, 98% of patients infected with omicron strain are treated at home and 2% inpatient. This type of virus mainly affects the upper respiratory tract,” he said.
