Health authorities refute quarantine rumors in Tashkent kindergartens
The Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing and Public Health has denied reports circulating on social media that quarantine measures have been introduced in kindergartens in Tashkent, saying no dangerous infectious diseases requiring such restrictions have been recorded in the capital.
In recent days, social media users have shared claims suggesting that quarantine could be imposed in some educational institutions in Tashkent. The Tashkent city department of the sanitary and epidemiological committee responded by clarifying the epidemiological situation in the capital.
According to the committee, the current public health situation in Tashkent remains stable, and there are no outbreaks of hazardous infectious diseases that would justify the introduction of quarantine measures.
“Cases mentioned on social media, including measles, meningitis, hepatitis, tuberculosis, and other infectious diseases, do not meet the criteria for imposing quarantine,” the committee said in a statement.
The authorities noted that, as in previous years, the winter season is accompanied by a seasonal rise in influenza and acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI). In response, educational institutions have intensified preventive health measures to protect children.
These measures include morning health screening, temperature checks, temporary isolation of children showing signs of illness, and the provision of guidance to parents. The committee emphasized that such preventive screening procedures are routine and should not be confused with quarantine.
Officials said the misinterpretation of these standard preventive measures has led some members of the public to mistakenly assume that quarantine had been introduced.
The committee urged parents and the public to rely on official sources for information and refrain from spreading unverified reports that could cause unnecessary concern.
