Uzbekistan Airways will launch charter flights to Sri Lanka on a regular basis, Sri Lankan Daily News writes.
Flights will be operated on Wednesdays to Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport, located in the southern part of the island nation near the resort of Arugam Bay and the Yala National Park. It is noted that the air harbor was chosen due to attractive conditions.
The air carrier is organizing charters together with the travel agency Aitken Spence Travels. According to a company representative, up to 1,200 passengers are expected during this charter flight operations.
The report notes that expected tourists from Uzbekistan have booked places in 4-star hotels, and some of them even rented premium cars. Sri Lankan business is confident in their solvency, the statement says.
The carrier itself has not yet issued comments on this matter.
