12 international companies to participate in tender for construction of Guzar solar photovoltaic plant
The Ministry of Energy has received applications from China, the UAE, Russia, Turkey, France and other countries to participate in the first stage of the tender (request for qualification – RFQ) for independent power producers (investor-developers) for the construction project of the Guzar solar photovoltaic power plant.
According to the agency, a total of 12 international companies sent requests.
The project is being implemented by the ministries of energy, investment and foreign trade, finance and the Agency for Development of Public-Private Partnerships with the support of the Asian Development Bank. It provides for the construction of a solar photovoltaic plant with a capacity of up to 300 MW in the Guzar district, Kashkadarya region.
The RFQ was provided in the public domain in order to create conditions for everyone to participate in the tender. After receiving applications from tender participants, the commission will assess the completeness and compliance of the received applications, after which a “short list” of qualified participants will be announced, who will subsequently be admitted to the second stage of the tender.
It should be recalled that the project is the second under the Program for the construction of solar photovoltaic stations with a total capacity of 1 GW, which is being implemented by the Government of Uzbekistan with the support of the ADB.
