State Statistics Committee names most visited museums in Uzbekistan
May 18 - International Museum Day. The State Statistics Committee presented a number of figures for museums in Uzbekistan.
According to the Committee, as of January 1, 2022, the number of museums in Uzbekistan was 127, and in 2021, they were visited by 5.1 million people.
The number of visitors in the museum section is as follows:
- the State Museum named after I.V.Savitsky of the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 48.3 thousand people;
- the State Museum of the History of the Timurids - 86.5 thousand people;
- the Ichan-Kala complex in Khiva - 211.9 thousand people;
- the Bukhara State Museum of Art and Architecture - 399.4 thousand people;
- the Samarkand State Art Museum-Reserve - 683.9 thousand people.
According to the Committee, today the entrance to all museums in the country is free.

- Republic of Karakalpakstan - 4;
- Andijan region - 2;
- Bukhara region - 19;
- Jizzakh region - 7;
- Kashkadarya region - 10;
- Navoi region - 6;
- Namangan region - 2;
- Samarkand region - 13;
- Surkhandarya region - 8;
- Syrdarya region - 1;
- Tashkent region - 5;
- Fergana region - 17;
- Khorezm region - 3;
- Tashkent city - 30.
