Uzbekistan expands cooperation with German brands 

With the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Federal Republic of Germany, a delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan headed by Chairman Davron Vakhobov and representatives of MIFT visited Deichmann, the largest shoe manufacturer in Europe, based in Essen.

Today, Uzbekistan has a lot of opportunities for business development. Even in the field of leather and footwear, there are big changes every day. Entrepreneurs of our country are constantly working to establish cooperation with the most developed and influential international organizations.

In order to open the way for bilateral cooperation, on May 17 this year, with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Federal Republic of Germany, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan met with Deichmann, the largest shoe manufacturer in Europe.

For information: Deichmann has about 5,000 stores around the world, with an annual turnover of 7 billion euros. The company mainly uses artificial leather (70%) and natural leather products (30%). Today, the company has launched production in countries such as China, India and Turkey.

During the meeting, information was provided on the existing raw material base of the country’s leather and footwear industry, the opportunities created for foreign investors and the products produced.

In the course of the talks, the issues of production of natural and artificial leather shoes for the German brand in Uzbekistan, supply of the domestic market with quality products and export to neighboring countries were discussed.

Representatives of the company said that in order to enter the Uzbek market, it is necessary to thoroughly study its potential and competitiveness. It was noted that in order to start Deichmann, it is necessary to open at least 30 stores in the Uzbek market.

The issue of developing “fashion tourism” through the establishment of the company’s brand stores in our country was also considered.

Following the meeting, representatives of the company agreed to develop a roadmap for cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
