State of emergency terminated in Karakalpakstan
According to the presidential decree, the state of emergency introduced in the territory of the Republic of Karakalpakstan has been terminated early on July 21, 2022 at 05:00.
On July 20, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the decree “On ending the state of emergency in the territory of the Republic of Karakalpakstan”.
The document was adopted taking into account the request of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan to terminate the state of emergency before its term and the fact that public order has been restored in the territory of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Reportedly, the safety of citizens, protection of their rights and freedoms has been ensured as a result of the measures taken.
The state of emergency has been terminated early on July 21 at 05:00.
It should be recalled that after the riots in Nukus on July 1-2, the President imposed a state of emergency in the territory of Karakalpakstan for a period of one month.
On July 13, the state of emergency was relaxed, curfew was reduced from 21:00 – 07:00 to 23:00 – 05:00.
On July 20, it became known that deputies from Karakalpakstan appealed to the President to ease the state of emergency.
