PGO detains man transporting 10 pieces of bullion gold weighing more than 1 kg from Samarkand to Tashkent
The Bulungur district department of the Prosecutor General’s Office, in cooperation with the district department of Internal Affairs, stopped and inspected a HYUNDAI ELANTRA car at the “Yuqori nuqta” checkpoint. During the inspection, law enforcement officers found 10 pieces of gold metal alloys with a total weight of 1 kg 100 grams and a total value of 703.9 million soums.
The gold items were seized in a procedural manner, says the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The prosecutor’s office initiated a criminal against the man under Article 177 of the Criminal Code (illegal acquisition or transfer of currency values), and an investigation is underway.
