Servicemen of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan begin exercises near Afghan border

Joint military exercises of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan “Commonwealth-2022” began in Termez, the press service of the Defense Ministry reports.
Major General Zaynobiddin Iminov, Commander of the Southwestern Special Military District, and Major General Egamzod Sharof Khudoyberdi, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Tajik Armed Forces, spoke at the opening ceremony and expressed confidence that these joint exercises between the two countries would strengthen the ties of friendship between the states.
After the opening ceremony, the servicemen of Uzbekistan held demonstrative performances, during which they exhibited the techniques and methods of close combat, the evacuation of the wounded and repelling the attack of a mock enemy.
The servicemen of Tajikistan also took part in demonstrative performances.
