Citizens encouraged to donate blood voluntarily 

In Uzbekistan, the activities of blood establishments will be improved and the voluntary donation movement will be developed among the population. A presidential decree was signed in this regard.

As the “Nigoh” Telegram channel reports, according to the decision:

ꞏ regular donors (donating blood at least 3 times a year) and their close relatives are provided with blood and its components free of charge during inpatient treatment, when necessary;
ꞏ the cost of providing donors with free food is the same across the republic - 3% of the minimum payout for labor (currently 27,000 soums);
ꞏ the amount of payment for immunization and donated plasma to immune donors is proportionally indexed within the level of the increase of the MPL;
ꞏ in urgent cases, it is allowed to use the ambulance service to transport components of donor blood.

Starting from January 1, 2023, the sum of the monetary award given to the persons awarded with the medal “Honorary Donor of the Republic of Uzbekistan” will be increased from 5 to 15 BCAs (from 1.5 million soums to 4.5 million soums).

The following rights are granted to persons awarded with this badge:

ꞏ free use of all types of city public transport (except taxis with and without direction);
ꞏ receiving referrals for treatment at state sanatoriums without queues;
going on annual leave at a convenient time for them.

For information, the “Honorary Donor of the Republic of Uzbekistan” badge was established in 2014. This badge is awarded to individuals who have donated their blood at least 40 times or a part of its components for free at least 60 times.
