“Deputy director” detained in Fergana upon receipt of 15 million soums in bribe
He introduced himself to the head of the district public education department as an employee of the State Security Service and demanded a bribe, saying that a complaint was filed against him.
The deputy director of one of the schools in the Margilon city, T.I. (name changed), was arrested while extorting money from U.R, head of the public education department of one of the regional districts.
It was found that citizen T.I. introduced himself to U.R., the head of the district public education department, as “an executive employee of the regional SSS department” and informed that a complaint had been filed against him. The pseudo-employee said that he has been demanding money from school directors every month, and that there are audio and video recordings proving that he received a large bribe from a woman who was recently appointed to a higher position, and demanded 15 million soums in exchange for saving him from legal consequences.
At an operative event held by law enforcement officers, T.I. was caught with material evidence while receiving the specified amount of money.
On this fact, a criminal case has been initiated against T.I. under Article 165-1 of the Criminal Code. Currently, investigative activities are underway.
