CNG-powered bus explodes in Syrdarya, killing at least 6 people
An explosion occurred in a compressed natural gas installed on an “Isuzu” bus in the Akaltin district, Syrdarya region.

Today, August 18, at approximately 14:30, an explosion occurred at a CNG filling station located in the Akaltin district of Syrdarya region.
According to the Ministry of Emergencies, when the “Isuzu” bus belonging to the driving school in the Bogot district of Khorezm region was refilled with methane gas, one of the gas cylinders installed in it exploded.
According to preliminary information, 6 people died on the spot and 15 people were injured.
A working group including the leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived at the scene of the incident.
Currently, employees of the regional and district MES, MIA, Health Ministry leadership, prosecutor’s office are conducting a preliminary investigation.
