The company reported 10,843 cases in August and 20,286 in September. By October 26, the number had already exceeded September’s total by 830.

Since the beginning of 2026, administrative reports have been issued to 134,300 passengers for traveling without paying their fares.

Toshshahartransxizmat said the rising number of reports reflects not only an increase in fare evasion but also expanded inspections and more effective detection of violations.

Since September 1, passengers have been required to pay their fares when boarding buses. Those who board without paying are considered fare evaders.

Under Part 5 of Article 144 of Uzbekistan’s Code of Administrative Liability, failing to pay a fare is punishable by a fine of UZS 44,000.
