Tashkent to introduce face recognition system based on biometric data
The complex system is aimed at ensuring public order, preventing the spread of viral and infectious diseases, crime and terrorism.
At the 69th session of the Tashkent City Council of People’s Deputies, Shavkat Faiziev, an employee of the Cybersecurity Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, presented information on the concept of a project for a face recognition and control system based on biometric data.
According to the specialist, the system is of great importance in matters of protecting public health and public order, preventing crime, ensuring the safety of citizens, as well as human rights and freedoms.
To this end, it is planned to introduce an integrated system of face recognition and control based on biometric data in Tashkent.
“With the introduction of the system, many problems in society will be solved. In particular, the security of citizens will be ensured on the basis of advanced technologies, the system of control and operational information will be improved at social facilities and in public places. With the introduction of a control mechanism based on biometric databases, reliable protection of human rights will be ensured,” said Shavkat Faiziev.
He also added that the system will help prevent such risks as the spread of viral and infectious diseases, unrest, crime and terrorism.
