Museums dedicated to friendship of peoples to be opened in Samarkand city center
Several monuments from the late 19th - early 20th centuries located on Alisher Navoi and Shahrukh streets of Samarkand will be turned into museums. The topics of interethnic friendship and cooperation with foreign countries will be a priority.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the city of Samarkand, which will host several international level events in the coming months, and familiarized himself with the process of preparation for these conferences.
According to the official release, the city of Samarkand has many monuments from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is planned to establish museums dedicated to international friendship and cooperation with foreign countries in such historical buildings on Alisher Navoi and Shahrukh Streets.
The President approved these plans and gave instructions on enriching museums with content and showing close relations with partner countries.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev also got acquainted with the conditions created in the congress halls and hotels located in the territory of the “Great Silk Road” international tourism center in Samarkand district.
“Two of the hotels are 5-star and six are 4-star. The total area of the congress hall is about 6 thousand square meters. It can accommodate 3,500 people. A situation center has also been established for effective coordination of work during conferences.
Our President made recommendations on increasing the facilities for foreign delegations and bilateral meetings,” the report said.
