Uzbekistan, Egypt consider intensifying cooperation in textiles, agriculture and pharmaceuticals

Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov today received the Ambassador of Egypt Amira Fahmy.

According to the Foreign Ministry, at the meeting, the parties noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of Uzbek-Egyptian cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

The sides voiced mutual readiness to take joint measures for the timely and high-quality implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level.

The parties considered the schedule of upcoming joint events, in particular, the next meeting of the Uzbek-Egyptian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the next round of consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries.

An exchange of views also took place on the prospects for intensifying economic diplomacy, including by encouraging direct contacts between business circles, organizing business forums, implementing investment projects in the fields of textiles, agriculture, pharmaceuticals and other industries.

Particular attention at the meeting was paid to the interaction of the parties within the framework of the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The organizational aspects of the participation of the Egyptian delegation in the upcoming SCO Summit in Samarkand were discussed.

It should be noted that at the meeting of the Council of Heads of SCO member states, Memorandums are expected to be signed on granting the status of a partner in the SCO dialogue to a number of countries, including Egypt.
