President signs a new law on standardization
The national standardization system of Uzbekistan includes: the Agency for Technical Regulation under the Ministry of Investments; National Standards Body; bodies of state and economic management; technical committees for standardization.
One of the main tasks of standardization is to protect the life, health and property of citizens and the environment.
The standardization plan can be adopted for the following perspective:
- short-term (up to 1 year);
- middle (from 1 to 5 years);
- long-term (from 5 to 10 years).
A single information base of standards is formed and maintained by the national standardization body.
Categories of standards include:
- national standards;
- international (regional) standards;
- standards of foreign countries.
The law will enter into force 12 months after its publication.
