Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a law ratifying the agreement on opening representative offices of the two countries’ customs services.

The agreement establishes the legal and organizational framework for cooperation between the customs authorities. Signed in Tashkent on November 15, 2025, it provides for the prompt exchange of information, coordination of joint customs measures, and closer cooperation between the competent authorities.

Kazakhstan’s Kurultai had previously approved the ratification bill in two readings.

There are currently 11 border checkpoints between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, including eight road crossings and three railway crossings.
