Uzbekistan delegation takes part in 4th meeting of Moscow Format Consultations on Afghanistan
The delegation of Uzbekistan, headed by the Special Representative of the President for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, took part in the regular meeting of the Moscow Format Consultations on Afghanistan.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the event, the meeting participants discussed international efforts to resolve the Afghan crisis, to provide the country with humanitarian and other assistance as soon as possible.
The parties also exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan, the development of a consolidated position of the international community both in relation to the new authorities of the country, and the prospects for establishing sustainable and long-term peace in Afghanistan.
The importance of providing assistance in the economic recovery of Afghanistan, the implementation of various infrastructure projects in the country, in particular in the energy and transport and communication sectors, was noted.
Following the event, a joint statement was adopted, in which the participants supported the proposal of the Uzbek side to create an International Negotiating Group under the auspices of the UN.
