Turkish company plans to build a $250 million textile workshop in Namangan

The joint venture will manufacture products for export to the US, EU and other countries.

The Turkish group of companies Akcha Holding is interested in launching textile production in Uzbekistan, Spot reports referring to the MIFT press service.

The delegation headed by a member of the board of directors of the holding Ahmet Bilge Goksan met with Minister Jamshid Khodjayev. The parties considered the implementation of new joint projects in such areas as mechanical engineering and renewable energy.

The parties named textile as the main industry for cooperation. Representatives of Akcha Holding offered to launch a new investment project in Namangan region for $250 million.

The new production will produce yarn products, dyed fabrics and linen, terry towels, home knitwear and other textile products. The products are expected to be exported to the USA, Canada, Brazil, the European Union and other countries.

It is expected that the full implementation of the project will create 12-15 thousand jobs. The Uzbek side expressed its readiness to assist investors at all stages of the project.
