Uzbekistan imported $1.03 billion worth of gas from Turkmenistan over 11 months
In January-November 2022, Uzbekistan imported $1.03 billion worth of natural gas from Turkmenistan.
According to the Turkmengas State Concern, over the same period, Turkmenistan exported gas to China for $9.28 billion. Thus, Turkmenistan continues to lead among the states supplying pipeline natural gas to China.
Russia is in second place ($3.5 billion) in terms of Turkmen gas imports, Myanmar is third ($1.29 billion), Uzbekistan is fourth ($1.03 billion) and Kazakhstan is fifth ($1 billion).
It should be recalled that on December 13, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, received the head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, Sardor Umrzakov.
According to a Kun.uz source, during the trip, an agreement was reached and a contract was signed to supply Uzbekistan with an additional 20 million cubic meters of gas per day (a total of 1.5 billion cubic meters in 3 months).
