The US Embassy said that entering the United States through illegal routes may have the risk of becoming a victim of human trafficking and financial fraud, and called to find legal ways to enter the country.
The Consular Section of the US Embassy in Tashkent said that they have received numerous questions related to entering the territory of the United States through the Mexico-US border.
“The US Embassy warns that individuals who attempt to journey to the United States in an irregular manner put themselves at risk of becoming victims of crime, human trafficking, and financial scams. It is never safe to come to the United States through irregular channels. We encourage migrants to look into legal options for entry rather than take on the risks and dangers of irregular migration to the United States,” the US diplomatic mission in Tashkent said in a statement.
In 2022, several people who tried to illegally send Uzbeks to the USA through Mexico were arrested. Fraudsters demanded from $10,000 to $60,000 for each migrant.
