Pregnant woman sets herself on fire in her husband’s car in Fergana
Doctors were able to pull out the unborn baby alive from her mother's womb, but they were unable to save him.
On January 24, at around 19:00, a man was driving home with his wife when a quarrel arouse between the two. To talk to his wife and settle the matter, the man stopped the car on the side of the road. At that time, the woman, who was sitting in the back seat of the car, poured gasoline on herself from a plastic container she had with her, then poured some gasoline on her husband and on the car.
Frightened, the man jumped out of the car when the woman set herself on fire with a lighter.
The fire was extinguished by firefighters, who arrived at the scene on a call. Doctors were able to pull out the unborn baby alive from her mother's womb. The woman died in the fire.
However, despite the medical assistance provided, the newborn boy died in the hospital.
On this fact, the prosecutor’s office of Fergana city initiated a criminal case under Paragraph "b", Part 2 of Article 103 of the Criminal Code. Preliminary investigations are being carried out.
