Number of entrepreneurs significantly decreased in five regions of Uzbekistan
The need to introduce new approaches to increase business entities was noted at a videoconference meeting chaired by the President.
Last year, the number of newly registered entrepreneurs in 8 districts of Bukhara, in 2 districts of Namangan, Surkhandarya and Syrdarya regions and in 1 district of Tashkent region decreased by 30-40% compared to 2021.
The head of state noted that the worst situation is in the cities of Andijan, Termez and Kagan, in the districts of Jalakuduk, Markhamat, Alat, Karakul, Shafirkan, Mingbulak and Kibray, and pointed to the unsatisfactory work of the governors of these districts in this regard.
The relevant leaders, together with the regional governors, were instructed to travel to these districts within two weeks, study the situation on the spot and develop a business development program for each of them.
