At a press conference in Namangan, Minister of Health Amrillo Inoyatov, responding to a journalist’s request to increase the salaries of doctors in order to eradicate corruption in the healthcare system, said that it is impossible to raise the wages of doctors instantly, but doctors can earn “extra money” by treating patients more gently and with care.
“We are a developing country. We cannot raise the salaries of doctors to $2,000, $3,000, or $5,000 because we have many other problems at the moment. We are dealing with them one by one. […] I also conduct surgeries. I am sure that if you treat the patient with great care, he will voluntarily “thank you”, even if you do not ask him for it. I am saying this openly, but I am not sure if it is correct to say this as a minister,” said Amrillo Inoyatov.
