Uzbekistan extends social tax benefits for employers hiring young people until 2025
The benefit made it possible to employ 100,000 people in less than two years, the president said.
On April 11, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on improving work with youth.
The president announced a radical revision of the system of hiring young people for work. One of the steps in this direction will be the extension of social tax benefits for employers when hiring employees under 25 years old, introduced in May 2021.
In less than two years, more than 9,000 enterprises have taken advantage of the benefit, employing over 100,000 young people and receiving more than 150 billion soums in compensation. Now the program is extended for another 2 years.
The president noted that over the past year in 11 state universities, more than half of the graduates could not find a job - this is 6.5 thousand people. Problems are also observed in vocational education - 30,000 graduates of colleges and technical schools, or one in five, could not find a job.
In this regard, state bodies were instructed to take measures to place state orders in specialized educational institutions and update their programs. In the context of each ministry and region, youth employment programs should be developed and published.
Separately, Mirziyoyev expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that in a number of areas of youth employment, not enough attention is paid. The heads of Termez, Urgut, Sherabad, Chirokchi, Dekhkanabad, Asaka and more than 10 districts were criticized.
