Students to be permitted to officially work from second year of study
A draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures to create opportunities for students of higher educational institutions to work in their specialty”, developed by the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction, has been published.
According to the draft document:
• starting from the second year of study, students of higher educational institutions are allowed to work in their free time in their specialty on the basis of a certificate issued by the head of a higher educational institution;
• when hiring students undergoing paid work experience and paid internship, a certificate is not required;
• students are allowed to work in their specialty on the basis of a certificate only while studying at a higher educational institution.
The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations is entrusted with the task of developing and approving the procedure for issuing a certificate to students, giving them the right to work in their specialty, providing for:
• a list of areas of education for which a certificate is issued;
• the course starting from which certificates are issued in the areas of study;
• circumstances taken into account when issuing a certificate.
The Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction is invited to make appropriate changes to labor regulations.
