Pension Fund comments on reports regarding raising the retirement age
The Pension Fund has commented on the recommendations of the World Bank to increase the retirement age to 65.
Earlier, the World Bank recommended that Uzbekistan raise the retirement age in the long term. In particular, a slow (3-4 months per year) increase in the retirement age to 65 was proposed, starting from 2025.
The Extrabudgetary Pension Fund under the Ministry of Finance has commented on the World Bank’s recommendation.
“Currently, no such proposals or projects have been received in this regard. This issue is not on the agenda,” the Fund said.
The department urged citizens not to worry about this.
For information, currently, the retirement age in Uzbekistan for men is 60, for women - 55.
