About 14 thousand citizens convicted over three months - Supreme Court
The Supreme Court has provided information about those convicted and the sentences imposed on them during the last three months of this year.

In the past three months, 13,907 people were convicted in Uzbekistan. 3,707 of them were sentenced to imprisonment. Aziz Obidov, press secretary of the Supreme Court, announced this at a briefing.
It is noted that in 2022, a total of 56,542 persons were prosecuted by the court. Of these, 14,081 were sentenced to imprisonment.
For information, the penalty of restriction of freedom is not assigned to military personnel, foreign citizens, persons who do not have a permanent place of residence in our country.
In the event that the convict deliberately evades serving the sentence of restriction of freedom, as well as fails to fulfill the obligations imposed on him by the court, the court may replace the unexpired term of the sentence of restriction of freedom with another type of punishment.
