Fines for traffic violations to increase from May 1

On March 28, Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the decree on increasing the amount of wages, pensions and allowances. In accordance with this change, the base calculating amount (BCA) of Uzbekistan will also be 330 thousand soums from May 1. Below is the amount of fines that will change from May 1.

The procedure for calculating fines is defined in the articles of the Administrative Responsibility Code. In this case, calculations are made relative to the BCA.

In particular, failure to wear a seat belt will result in a fine of 1.5 BCA, i.e. 165,000 soums. Also,

•  driving a vehicle that has not been inspected, does not have a medical kit and other emergency equipment – 165 thousand soums;
•  driving a car without documents – 330 thousand soums;
•  crossing a red light – 660,000 soums;
•  violation of parking or parking rules (incorrect parking) – 660 thousand soums;
•  violation of towing rules – 1 million 650 thousand soums;
•  use of the telephone during management – 990 thousand soums;
•  driving vehicles whose license plates were arbitrarily removed – 1,650,000 soums;
•  participation in acting as a group threatening road safety or causing an accident – 1 million 650 thousand soums;
•  speeding (up to 20 km/h) – 330,000 soums;
•  speeding (20-40 km/s) – 1 million 650 thousand soums;
•  speeding (+40 km/h) – 2 million 970 thousand soums;
•  (forcing other citizens to take other measures to ensure their safety) driving in the opposite direction – 3 million 300 thousand soums;
•  driving vehicles while intoxicated – a fine of 8 million 250 thousand soums or deprivation of a driver’s license for up to 3 years;
•  unauthorized use of vehicles with tinted windows (unauthorized “tinting”), as well as covered vehicles that limit visibility – 8 million 250 thousand soums.

For information, according to the presidential law, which will come into force on May 1, if administrative fines are paid within 15 days, a 50% discount will be applied.
