Veterans of World War II in Uzbekistan to be awarded 18 million soums 

On the occasion of May 9, a one-time monetary award of 18 million soums will be given to each of the participants of the Second World War.

The decree of the President of Uzbekistan “On encouraging participants of the Second World War” was signed.

“In our country, May 9 – Memory and Honor Day is widely celebrated as a nationwide holiday. In order to perpetuate the memory of our ancestors who died in the Second World War, to honor the veterans who are still standing in our ranks and contribute to raising the prestige of our Motherland, to the spiritual and moral education of young people, and to financially encourage war veterans on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the victory over fascism:

A one-time monetary award in the amount of 18,000,000 (eighteen million) soums should be allocated for each of the participants of the Second World War,” the text of the decree reads.

Expenditures related to the execution of this decree are carried out from the funds of the republican budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

For information, in 2017, the amount of monetary award given to war veterans was 2 million soums, in 2018 – 5 million soums, in 2019 – 7.5 million soums, in 2020 – 10 million soums, in 2021 – 12 million soums, and in 2022 – 15 million soums.
