Uzbekistan’s deputy FM meets with Director of UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS
On June 12, Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov held a meeting with the Director of the Regional Bureau of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for Europe and the CIS, Ivana Živković.
At the beginning of the conversation, Gayrat Fozilov congratulated the representatives of the program on the 30th anniversary of the start of UNDP in Uzbekistan and highly appreciated its project activities in the country, which covers various spheres of society.
In turn, Ivana Živković expressed gratitude to the Uzbek side for close cooperation and ongoing support in the activities of the organization in the republic.
Topical issues of interaction between Uzbekistan and UNDP were discussed, focusing on the implementation of specific joint projects, including within the framework of the practical implementation of the sustainable development agenda in the period up to 2030, as well as the development strategy of the new Uzbekistan for 2022-2026.
Special attention was paid to expanding cooperation in the field of combating climate change, protecting the environment and biodiversity, in particular in countering the negative consequences of the ecological catastrophe of the Aral Sea.
