State Duma ratifies an agreement on customs services with Uzbekistan

A week earlier, the agreement between the two countries was approved by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The State Duma ratified an international agreement with Uzbekistan on the opening of representative offices of customs services, TASS reports

The lower house of the Russian parliament has ratified an international agreement between Russia and Uzbekistan, which involves the opening of customs offices of the two countries. Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted the agreement for ratification to the State Duma on July 8.

According to the agreement, representative offices will represent the interests of the customs service of their state on customs regulation issues, assist in the development of customs cooperation between states, and participate in activities to implement international treaties of states in the field of customs.

On July 13, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution that approved the international agreement.

It should be recalled that the governments of Russia and Uzbekistan signed an agreement on opening representative offices of the customs service on December 2, 2022 in Samarkand.
