Askar Isakov heads Uztransgaz
Askar Isakov has been appointed acting board chairman of JSC Uztransgaz.
Prior to the appointment, he worked as the deputy head of the Inspectorate for Control of Electricity, Oil Products and Gas Use ("Uzneftgazinspektsiya") under the Ministry of Energy.
Uztransgaz is the operator of the country's gas transmission system, providing transportation of natural gas to the domestic market, as well as export and transit of gas from Uzbekistan.
It should be reminded that the previous chairman of Uztransgaz Behzod Normatov was punished together with the head of Territorial Electric Networks Ulugbek Mustafoyev and the head of Uzbekneftegaz Mehriddin Abdullaev due to the energy crisis in winter. The president set a 3-month probationary period for them in January.
Mehriddin Abdullaev was released from the chairmanship of Uzbekneftegaz in March 2023. It is not known when Behzod Normatov left his job. Uztransgaz was led by Ahadkhan Isaqjanov for some time.
