In the Samarkand region, tariffs for cold water and sewerage services will increase from November 16, the Uzsuvtaminot press service reports.

New tariffs for cold water:

Tariffs for sewerage services:

•  for the population – 1600 soums per cubic meter;
•  for budgetary organizations – 4,300 soums per cubic meter;
•  for wholesale consumers – 4,300 soums per cubic meter.

Over the past five years, population coverage with centralized water supply in the Samarkand region has increased from 54.6 to 73.1%, and sewerage services – from 9.8 to 18.7%. By 2028, the coverage rate of residents with water supply will reach 92.5%, and sewerage – 45.1%.

It is planned to allocate 2.35 trillion soums to improve water supply in the region.

The allocated funds will finance the construction of 432 water supply and 45 sewerage structures, as well as lay new networks to ensure water supply.

In addition, Uzsuvtaminot justified the increase in tariffs by paying employee salaries and tax payments, paying for electricity, repaying loans and the need for funds for repairs and modernization of the system.
