“Palestine has the right to establish an independent state” – Shavkat Mirziyoyev
The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the summit of the Organization of Turkic States that the only solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is establishing two independent states.
In his speech at the OTS summit in Kazakhstan, Mirziyoyev once again called for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in the Middle East.
"We are all witnessing that today the global crisis of trust is intensifying. New threats are emerging to global security, and cases of deviation from the norms of international law are increasing.
Especially, the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, which has been going on for a long time in the Middle East, has become extremely dangerous and is a serious concern for all of us. The number of casualties and injuries among civilians, especially the elderly, women, and children, has increased dramatically, leading to humanitarian catastrophe.
In this regard, we call on the parties to immediately cease hostilities and compromise for the people of the two nations.
The only and fairest solution to this problem is to resolve the conflict based on the principle of "two states for two peoples".
The Palestinian people have the right to establish an independent state, as defined in United Nations resolutions. It is necessary for us to announce our unanimous and firm position in this regard to the whole world within the framework of our organization," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
