According to the MONTSAME Agency, on November 17, Farhod Arziev, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to China who also heads the country’s diplomatic mission to Mongolia, held talks with the Transport Minister of Mongolia Sandag Byambatsogt. The parties discussed the conclusion of an agreement on air services, which will allow the two countries to increase the number of transit flights and boost the transportation of Uzbek fruits and vegetables to Mongolia.

Sandag Byambatsogt said that the sides will also conclude an agreement on road transport soon.

If the project is implemented successfully, goods from Europe will be delivered through Uzbekistan and Mongolia to China, and cargo from Mongolia and China will reach European markets, as well as the markets of Iran and Pakistan, through Uzbekistan.

Farhod Arziev noted that the parties have great opportunities to increase mutual trade: Uzbekistan can export fruits and vegetables and import meat, wool, and cashmere products.

“Currently, trade turnover between our countries is around $7 million. We want to increase this figure in the near future,” Arziyev said.

It should be noted that there is a visa-free regime between Uzbekistan and Mongolia for a 30-day period and the parties intend to use this opportunity to develop tourism and create favorable conditions for tourists.
